Fantastic full day tour. Be prepared for a long drive out to the rock but it is fully worth it. Great host, had a laugh and we stopped at some interesting places on the way and on return. Really appreciated Peter getting the larger vehicle to accommodate us and he also provided water and fruit which were appreciated. Wave rock is a spectacular formation so go and see it!
This was the second tour we booked with Peter (the other one being Pinnacles Desert). Like the Pinnacles Desert Tour, the Wave Rock trip was also exemplary. Peter was at his usual beat in making multiple stops on way to Wave Rock and allowing us to absorb and see interesting things all along the way. Peter also has an amazing playlist of local Aussie bands which kept us entertained all throughout the trip. Great music A definite must to do tour for ppl visiting Perth because you get to see some amazing geological wonders with a gem of a dude as your guide.
Toured Western Australia Wheatbelt (Wave rock area) and Pinnacles area with Peter of PerthsTinyTours. Peter offers private small group tours, currently in his hybrid Toyota Camry. The advantages of a private tour with him are that you can customize the times and itinerary and you have a lot more flexibility in where you spend your time. And with a car many things are much more accessible than with bigger vans or buses for ex. doing the mud drive around Pinnacles (significantly reducing the walking required) or unpaved drives to see wildflowers are not possible in a bus and big groups can’t make dozens of stops along the Tin Horse highway. For the Wheatbelt area tour we wanted to see Wave Rock, Hippos Yawn, Tin Horse highway and wildflowers. Since we were fast we not only covered those but also were able to do make quick stops in York, Beverly and Mulka’s cave and do a short hike at Humps. For the Pinnacles area tour we wanted to do the Crystal Cave tour in Yanchep NP, see the Pinnacles in Nambung NP and stop at Lancelin sand dunes. Not only did we do those but Peter also showed us Kings Park in Perth (which we were unable to do on our own earlier) and Two Rocks (which has some interesting sculptures). We also arranged our airport pickup with Peter and as part of that he gave us a quick orientation of the area near our hotel and provided picture opportunities for the Swan river bridge and the Optus stadium. Peter charged us only a bit more than the bigger group tours available on Viator and though he doesn’t include lunch like many of the other tours he provides some fruit and water. Given the flexibility and the private nature of the tour, Peter was clearly a much better choice than the group tours. Peter enjoys touring himself, is pretty relaxed, has a very nice clean car, is a decent driver and is on What’s App (hence reachable via Wifi) so touring with him is fun. If you don’t like his easy listening/alternative music playlist you just need to let him know and plug in yours (as long as it’s not rap :). In summary if you are in the Perth area would definitely recommend doing the Wave rock, Tin Horse highway and Pinnacles with Peter of PerthsTinyTours.
My elderly mother and I had a lovely day with Pete from Perth's Tiny Tours on our trip to Wave Rock. Pete collected us from our hotel at 8am and we headed out to Wheatbelt country. We stopped for a quick snack in the pretty town of York and then on to the town of Beverley, with its art deco style buildings. It was a long drive, but Pete has music to listen to or is happy to chat along the way. Lunch at Wave Rock Cafe was very nice and very reasonable priced. We sat beside the open fire and enjoyed our time there. A quick walk had us at Wave Rock. We were amazed at the rock formation and it was well worth the time it took to get us there. Pete and I climbed the steps to the top of Wave Rock and enjoyed the views from the top. Mum was able to sit at the base of the rock and wait for us to return. On the way back to Perth, Pete drove via the Iron Horse Highway. This was a very interesting detour, and we have some lovely photos. It was a 12 hour day, but we really enjoyed ourselves. It was lovely not to be part of a busload of tourists I must admit. Whilst we were in Perth, Pete also provided us with return transfers to and from the airport. He was very punctual and provided a very reasonably priced service. I can thoroughly recommend Pete as a a safe driver and punctual. He communicated with me via text when necessary. I would certainly use the services of Perth's Tiny Tours when I next return to Perth.
