The Dookie Rail Trail traverses open fertile farmland with rolling hills in the distance. Set at the base of Mt Saddleback, after a gentle climb you are rewarded with stunning views of Mt Major and Gentle Annie Hill.
The Dookie Rail Trail is ideal for families with young kids, and those looking for an easy scenic ride or walk. The trail is 9.3 kilometres return, taking around two hours to walk, or 1.5 hours for a casual ride.
Be sure to look out for the abundant wildlife along the way. The third intersection (Hoopers Road) is home to Willy the Wombat. Echidnas, koalas, possums, Blue Tongue lizards, wedge tail eagles and kangaroos, along with the native birdlife are waiting to be discovered.
