Mungabareena Reserve is an important cultural reserve that has significance to many Aboriginal clans in this region. It is where Aboriginal peoples from different clans meet to trade before continuing towards Mount Bogong to hunt for Bogong moths. The Ngan Girra Festival is held here every November.
The Waterworks area is further along from Mungabareena, and is also a popular spot for recreation on the Murray at Albury. There are many other recreational areas along the banks of the Murray and chances are you'll find your own pristine river beach to enjoy.
