Visit Darling Downs Zoo
To promote throughout the Darling Downs and beyond an appreciation of, respect for and concern for the preservation of the planet's biodiversity by the display of a representative and planned collection of animal life in appropriate social groupings and simulated habitats.
The Darling Downs Zoo is Queensland's newest zoo and is situated in a tranquil rural setting on Queensland's beautiful eastern Darling Downs ... about midway between Toowoomba and Warwick.
The zoo is privately owned by Steve and Stephanie Robinson who have devoted their lives to the care of all creatures great and small. Between them they have accumulated well over 50 years of animal keeping experience.
The Darling Downs Zoo is situated on the Gatton-Clifton Road which runs between Tent Hill [near Gatton] in the east and the New England Highway [near Clifton] in the west. This road is State Road 80 and this is indicated at intervals along it's route by a blue shield with the numbers 80. The road is often referred to locally as the Heifer Creek road or the Ma Ma Creek road. If you are coming from the Lockyer Valley or Brisbane you will find it a beautiful, winding country drive. We are 50 kilometres along this road from the Tent Hill turnoff.
