Kalamunda Wet’n’Wild was opened in the 1960’s and quickly became the pride of the Hills. It earned a reputation for fast and fierce slides to go with a relaxing family atmosphere. Catering to all ages, it was a place where you could take your family and spend a whole day in the peaceful surrounds.
The YMCA Perth took over the tender for Kalamunda Water Park for the 2010/2011 season though it soon became apparent that redevelopment was required to bring the facility in line with current standards. The park was then closed for the 2010/2011 summer season to allow for the first stage of the redevelopment of the park to continue to provide a safe and enjoyable centre for its patrons.
The centre re-opened its doors after major refurbishment in December 2011 under the banner of Kalamunda Water Park. This was an exciting period for local residents and thrill seekers further afield who had been waiting patiently for the iconic Perth attraction to re-open.
