Visit Sydney Tramway Museum
The Sydney Tramway Museum has interesting trams from various Australian cities - Sydney included - and from overseas. Currently, we have a visitor: a 1908 tram preserved for the PowerHouse Museum. They have loaned it to us to do some runs on special days. This actually extends the life of many types of machinery. It's on display for you in our Display Hall - number 805: take a look!
Grandparents are ideal to take the children to ride and see the trams. Many regale their grandchildren with their tram riding stories.
Tram to and from the Royal National Park run hourly from 10.15 am until 2.15 pm on each weekday. There are later trips as well on Sundays. Between these times, there are trips in the opposite direction from the Museum towards Sutherland.
The Museum is nestled in the southern Sydney suburb of Loftus, which adjoins the beautiful and expansive Royal National Park. It is easily reached either by car or train:
